Introduction

 Welcome to my blog on digital and multimodal literacies in elementary and middle school classrooms.  In this blog, I'll share what the students in my graduate level class on digital and multimodal literacies are learning.  To do that, I'll share their blogs and the projects that they are creating as a part of the face to face portion of our hybrid class at the University of Oklahoma.  We are now 10 weeks into the semester so they have posted several times already. Each student (there are 9 students, 8 master's level and 1 doctoral student) began with a topic they wanted to explore around the big topic of digital and multimodal literacy.  They each created an inquiry question of what they wanted to know.  They went searching for literature to answer their question, and divided what they found into 5 sub topics.  They have also been planning to implement lessons in their own classrooms (8 are practicing teachers, 1 is not) to demonstrate their understanding of their topic and answer to the inquiry question. They will be posting on that as well as evaluating digital resources.
